NOT ALL FENG SHUI IS EQUAL - KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!

Feng Shui is a complex science and art that originated in ancient China, and is widely used in Asia today. 

At times in Chinese history, knowledge of Feng Shui was limited only to high officials, and at other times it was available to the common people.  Only in the 20th century did a few great teachers of Feng Shui start to share this knowledge in English and other languages, making the practice available to the western world.

Once in America, Feng Shui took on many new directions, to the point where most of what is called Feng Shui in America today has little in common with authentic Asian Feng Shui.  In the United States, simplified or modified “variations” of Feng Shui are marketed widely.  Unfortunately, these “non-traditional” practices differ greatly from authentic Feng Shui.  Simplistic articles and books about Feng Shui refer to the “Chinese art of furniture placement”.  This does not reflect a real understanding of Feng Shui.  Authentic Feng Shui is actually energy work for buildings.  An acupuncturist or reiki practitioner works with the chi, or vital life energy, of the human body, to optimize a patient’s health and wellbeing.  In the same way, a Feng Shui practitioner works with the chi in the home or business, to optimize all areas of life including health, finances and relationships. 

Authentic Feng Shui, exactly as practiced in Asia, can be found in America, but you must know what to look for.  Real Feng Shui in America is generally referred to as “classical” or “traditional” Feng Shui.  There are 2 keys to look for:

  1. Authentic Feng Shui is always based on compass directions.  Non-traditional variations generally do not use the compass.

  2. Authentic Feng Shui always considers the all-important time factor.  Certain historical information about the structure is used to determine the nature of its unseen energies, how those energies move over time and how their impact on the occupants changes over time.  These moving and changing unseen energies are referred to as Flying Stars.  Non-traditional variations generally treat energy as if it were stagnant.

If you are serious about Feng Shui and if your goal is to make real changes in your life, then look for authentic Asian Feng Shui – “classical” or “traditional” Feng Shui that is compass-based and that includes a Flying Star analysis.

Feng Shui es una ciencia y un arte complejo que originaron en China antigua, y es ampliamente utilizado en Asia hoy.

Ocasionalmente en historia china, el conocimiento de Feng Shui fue limitado solamente a los altos funcionarios, y en otras veces estaba disponible para el pueblo.  Solamente en el vigésimo siglo hizo a algunos grandes profesores del comienzo de Feng Shui para compartir este conocimiento en idiomas inglesas y otras, poniendo la práctica a disposición el mundo occidental.

В свое время, знание Фэнг Шуй было доступно лишь только высокопоставленным чиновникам, позднее, оно стало мало по малу быть доступным  простым людям. И только в XX веке несколько великих мастеров Фэнг Шуя открыли это знание для всех желающих и стали делиться своим опытом на английском и других языках, открывая таким образом эту древнюю практику  западному миру.

Появивишись в Америке, Фэнг Шуй принял много новых направлений.
